Tirthan valley, is still, a relatively lesser explored destination in Himachal Pradesh From adventurous drives, to lush green farms, apple orchards, trout fishing, treks, it offers all this, and much more Before we start exploring the valley, Tirthan originates from a place called Tirath, quite close to the revered peak of Shrikhand Mahadev.
Then flows down towards the villages of Rolla, Ropa through the Great Himalayan National Park. At Gushaini, it is joined by a smaller stream, Palchan Gaad, coming through the village of Bathad.
We will go fishing there, later on. Gushaini, Nagini, Ropa are some of the prominent places in this valley. Near Banjar, a small stream, Jibhi Gad, merges into Tirthan.
Travelling on the left bank of Tirthan, the views are simply, awesome! Forests, farms, apple orchards welcome you.
To just soak in the nature, enjoy this moment and not think of anything. You can never experience this kind of solitude in our cities. We watch the sun go down from the banks, and return only when it starts getting really cold.
There aren’t much vehicles on the road now, but yes, occasionally, such bus drivers who want to stick to the cliff side do appear, just around the corners This is Bathad, where the road ends. Beyond this point, it's a dirt track clinging on the cliff side.
You can also go trekking into the Great Himalayan National Park. Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed this journey.
